Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation
I am deeply committed to empowering youth to advocate for a sustainable planet and global society. I find it embarrassing that recent graduates in Denmark, who are eager to work towards a more sustainable world, struggle to find employment opportunities aligned with their aspirations. Many young individuals often end up working for free or for minimal compensation in the NGO sector, ultimately losing their motivation – a situation I am determined to address through my efforts in SDG World.
In 2023, I returned to Denmark after residing for three years in a provincial town in Ghana, where I co-founded and developed the InspiNest Foundation alongside my local “brother” and entrepreneur, Felix Dumong.
InspiNest (Inspire Nest), a non-profit entrepreneurship hub, fosters an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset among local youth, a critical need in a society marked by soaring youth unemployment rates, including the highly educated. Over the past years, we have positively influenced thousands of girls and boys and established external hubs in local schools, where the students by themselves teach other students.
I believe that similar collaborations between NGOs and the education sector are lacking in Denmark, and it is an area I actively advocate for within SDG World.
The sustainable development goals (SDGs) we fight for in SDG World transform our pursuit of a sustainable planet into a global and collective endeavor. Therefore, it is an important part of facilitating collaboration and partnerships between the Global South and Denmark constitutes an integral part of our work. Importantly, this exchange is not unidirectional, there is much to learn from Ghana and other African countries in Denmark and I strive to ensure mutual benefits from our collaborative efforts.
